Description du lot: 1794 Liberty Cap Cent. S-43. Rarity-2+. Noyes Die State B. Head of 1794. VF-35 BN (NGC). Dominant orange-brown patina to both sides, the surfaces also reveal intermingled swirls of bolder charcoal toning in isolated areas, especially on the obverse within the tresses of Liberty's hair. The strike is well centered and overall bold, if a bit soft here and there at the borders, and the detail has held up nicely in the presence of light to moderate wear. The surfaces are overall smooth with no pitting, granularity or other significant blemishes, and just a few stray abrasions that hardly detract. This early large cent type is always in demand at pleasing, problem free levels of preservation, circulated and Mint State.
