1801 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. B-2, BB-212. Rarity-3. BB Die State III. VF-20 (PCGS). Mostly silver gray in sheen, this piece does exhibit slightly warmer golden-gray tinting that is largely confined to the peripheries. Free of individually distracting abrasions, the overall appearance is actually quite smooth for an early dollar that saw this extensive circulation. Well defined for the grade, as well, save for where characteristic softness of strike for the die state has affected some of the letters in the word LIBERTY.
