Lot Description

1823 Matron Head Cent. Unofficial Restrike. Noyes Die State C. Copper. AU-58 (PCGS). Struck circa 1860s by a person or persons unknown. A muling of mismatched dies; the reverse die was previously used to strike 1813 cents. Thick die breaks across obverse and reverse are diagnostic. An excellent example in a high grade. PCGS# 81627.
