1819/8 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-104. Rarity-2. Large 9. MS-63 (PCGS). This newcomer to the census for the 1819/8 O-104 dies is unlisted in the Spring 2021 revision to Stephen J. Herrman's AMBPR for Bust half dollars, in which list it is tied for CC#4. The obverse is particularly vivid with splashes of cobalt blue, lilac-rose and reddish-apricot iridescence throughout. The reverse is closer to brilliant with lighter toning around the periphery. Satiny in finish with a razor sharp strike and uncommonly smooth appearance for the assigned grade.
