Lot 49 1803 C-1 R1 PCGS graded XF45, CAC Approved.Glossy medium steel and chocolate brown. The notable marks are a dull nick or planchet chip on the rim over the E in LIBERTY and a spot of very fine reddish roughness on the R in AMERICA. Otherwise this half cent is nearly flawless with only trivial contact marks visible under strong magnification. Frosty flowline luster covers the fields and protected areas on both sides and the eye appeal is excellent. LDS, Manley state 3.0, with all the die cracks mentioned by Manley plus an additional die crack through the tops of ER in AMERICA to the dentils over the adjacent M (a crack not mentioned in the Manley die state reference). Our grade is EF45 sharpness net EF40.The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
