- 1843-C Liberty Quarter Eagle. Small Date, Crosslet 4. EF-45 (PCGS). Doug Winter rates the 1843-C Small Date as the rarest of all Charlotte Mint quarter eagles. This piece at the upper reaches of the EF grade level, with moderate even wear noted on the high points and very few marks on either side, save for a few wispy hairlines in the fields. PCGS# 7729.
