Losbeschreibung

Tompkins Die Stage 1/1, Rea et al. Die State P. Crescents of vivid peripheral color are broadest and most vivid along the lower reverse. Otherwise pewter and pale olive surfaces are subdued from cleaning, yet retain traces of softly frosted luster. Sharply defined EF preservation for this very scarce Browning number that is a pairing of two workhorse dies: the obverse also appears in the 1828 B-1 and B-3 marriages, the reverse in the rare 1823/2 B-1, key date 1824/2 B-1, and very scarce 1825 B-1 varieties.
