1863 Liberty Seated Quarter. Briggs 1-A. MS-63 (PCGS). OGH. Sharp and frosty with uncommonly smooth surfaces in hand for the assigned grade. Light champagne toning on the obverse gives way to bolder, mottled steel-blue iridescence on the reverse. These are scarce in all grades, the mintage just 191,600 circulation strikes during an era when little silver bullion reached the Philadelphia Mint for coinage. PCGS# 5458. NGC ID: 23TX.
