Lot Description

1857 Liberty Half Eagle. MS-63+ (NGC). This sharply struck half eagle is boldly lustrous with medium orange-gold surfaces and traces of deeper orange toning throughout. The fields are lightly reflective and satiny in appearance, while the devices are faintly frosted. While not a great rarity in and of itself -- 98,188 pieces were struck -- it is an elusive date in Choice Mint State as the data below suggests. Choice and appealing.
