Lot Description

1868 Nickel Three-Cent Piece. Proof-65 Ultra Cameo (NGC). Pale blended gold and gray iridescence complements frosty motifs and blazing mirror fields. The nickel three-cent Proof mintage for this date was not recorded, but probably was on the order of 750 to 1,000 pieces, in any event more than the 600 recorded for the silver issues of 1868. PCGS# 93764.
