The F. Raphael Collection. 22 graded MS-64, 13 higher at NGC. As is often the case with even later Barber quarters, the date doesn't strike a chord as a key to the series, yet it proves to be quite elusive in the better mint-state grades. The highpoints appear to be just slightly glossy at first glance, and only fair luster decorates both sides. Unusual for the type, the dies have been rather strongly clashed, which plausibly helps explain the not-quite-perfect definition seen throughout.
