Lot Description

1859 Liberty Seated Quarter. Proof-63+ (PCGS). CAC. Fully brilliant and mildly cameo-like in appearance, especially on the obverse. A splash of  deep rose and blue iridescence is noted at the rim on each side, heaviest at the bottom of the reverse. One of 800 proofs of the date tallied at the Philadelphia Mint in 1859, the first year of accurate record keeping for proofs at that facility.
