Lot Description
1786 Vermont Copper. RR-9, Bressett 7-F, W-2040. Rarity-4. Baby Head. VF-20. 103.5 grains. Medium golden-tan surfaces relatively smooth for a Baby Head. VERMON soft on obverse, small rim cut at 2 o'clock, sizeable rim clip at 6 o'clock, another smaller clip at 9 to 10 o'clock, fissure, as struck, at back of head but free of contact marks, reverse aligned 270 degrees, as frequently seen for Ryder-9, ET soft, fissure interrupts LIB, another fissure on shield and a smaller fissure at the branch, larger of two rim clips manifests itself 10 o'clock, the smaller clip below the date, strong devices throughout. No marks of any measure that weren't in the planchet when struck are noted. All told, a solid representative example of this popular Red Book type. PCGS# 548.
