Lot Description
1857 Flying Eagle Cent. Snow-9, FS-402--Obverse Clashed Die with Liberty Seated Half Dollar--MS-63 (PCGS). Eagle Eye Photo Seal. Lustrous deep rose-gold surfaces exhibit a frosty appearance throughout. The strike is sharp and surface marks are essentially invisible to the naked eye, with no major disturbances seen under low magnification. What appears to be a die crack through MERICA on the obverse is actually a portion of Liberty's shield arm from the half dollar die clash, and other "marks" on the surface are nothing more than additional half dollar design elements. Easily among the most desirable of all Indian cent varieties. Choice throughout, especially for the grade.
