- Minor, isolated softness on the reverse may be attributed to a combination of typical New Orleans strike quality and a light touch of wear, although overall, this half-dollar retains the vast majority of the original frothy luster. The obverse, by contrast, seems unexpectedly sharp, with pinpoint delineation of the stars and boldly intricate hair details. Nearly white and certainly not far from mint-state.
