1837 Capped Bust Dime. JR-1. Rarity-4. AU-53 (NGC). Peripheral toning in vivid sea-green iridescence rings the obverse, a splash of bolder russet patina confined to Liberty's bust. The reverse is more evenly patinated in a warmer rose-gray shade. Lightly circulated, yet free of significant abrasions. Of this die marriage the John Reich Collectors Society (1984) states: "A very scarce variety that is difficult to locate in VF-30 or better grades."
