1842 Braided Hair Cent. N-2. Rarity-1. Noyes Die State C/C. Small Date. MS-64 BN (NGC). Satiny and lustrous rose-brown surfaces reveal a pleasing soft orange underglow throughout. The strike is bold at the centers but most of the obverse star lack their radials, and the dentils on both sides are soft and mushy in appearance. Marks of consequence are not to be found with the naked eye. Choice for the grade, and an appealing example of the Petite Head design type of 1839-1843.
