Tompkins Die Stage 3/4. A lustrous and softly frosted example originally toned in a blend of olive-gray, silver-russet and steel-blue. Strike detail is sharp in virtually all areas of the design, the surfaces impressively smooth in hand with no sizeable marks or other blemishes. Given both the readily obtainable nature of this die pairing and the premium AU quality that it offers, this coin is a strong candidate for inclusion in a high grade type set requiring an example of the historic Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle half dollar.
