1903 Barber Quarter. Proof-66 (NGC). Bold charcoal-copper patina to both sides, the obverse also with olive-gray and reddish russet highlights over and around Liberty's portrait. A well mirrored finish is easily seen as the surfaces dip into a light, and all angles readily reveal a full strike and smooth looking features. As a whole, 20th century proof Barber quarter issues are more challenging to locate in attractive Gem quality than their predecessors from the 1890s.
