Bright and flashy, almost to the point of blazing golden brilliance, the surface retains considerable luster despite a number of small post-mint nicks scattered about. A tough specimen in mint-state with a solid mintmark, the 1911-S proves more elusive than expected given the large mintage of well over a million pieces.
