Description du lot
Light champagne-gold patina adorns sharply impressed, satiny surfaces. The 1896-O is a popular semi-key date issue that saw a production run of just 610,000 pieces, the sixth lowest mintage figure for the design type. It is the third rarest New Orleans Mint Barber dime after the 1894-O and 1895-O, and is scarce even in lower Mint State grades. Gems are highly elusive, even in MS-65, and the present example in attractive PCGS MS-64 is one of the finest currently available to discerning collectors of Barber coinage.
