Lot Description

1889 Seated Liberty Half Dollar. Proof-66 (NGC). OH. Sharply struck and frosty in the central areas with wisps and tinges of crimson and gold at the rims. All design features are about as sharp as could be desired including Liberty's tresses and drapery, the obverse stars, and the eagle's plumage and talons.  Only 711 proof half dollars were coined during the year. NGC has certified scarcely more than a couple-dozen survivors as Proof-66 or finer.
