Lot Description

1845 Liberty Seated Quarter. Briggs 4-D. MS-65 (NGC). Dramatic shades of electric-blue, olive and neon-green adorn the obverse in a mottled fashion, while more even hues of steel-green, lilac and gold are seen on the reverse. Sharply struck and lustrous, with uncommonly well preserved surfaces for an 1840s Liberty Seated quarter, irrespective of date or issuing mint. NGC Census: 7; with a single MS-66 finer.
