- 1851 Gold Dollar. MS-67 (PCGS). OGH. While a common enough date in most grades, including a fair number of lower-end Mint State coins, when a Gem grade is desired, the numbers really decline. In fact, PCGS has graded fewer than 100 examples in MS-65 or finer of this date. In MS-67 as presented here, this is a true condition rarity. The surfaces are pristine, with thick satiny luster throughout, undisturbed by handling with a perfect blend of orange-gold hues with a hint of green that dazzle the eye with originality and harmony. The reverse die was rotated about 20 degrees counter clockwise when struck. A simply exceptional coin that is worthy of even the most advanced collection.
