Lot Description
1852 U.S. Assay Office of Gold $10 Gold. K-12a(2). Rarity-5. Faint Beads. MS-61 (NGC). CAC. This delightful Mint State example exhibits light, mottled, copper-rose iridescence to a base of warmer khaki-gold color. The overall strike is quite sharp by the standards of the type, and the only mentionable lack of detail is minor and largely confined to the centers. Minimally abraded at the BU grade level, with no individually conspicuous detractions. An important Territorial gold coin attributed to the United States Assay Office of Gold under principals Curtis, Perry and Ward.
