Lot Description

Nicholas Jackson Collection. Overton-108 (R.4), "second die marriage", can best be identified by a tiny dot just above the inner point of the first star. The reverse also shows some subtle die lumps in the left field, halfway to the "T" of UNITED. Best of all, the "F" in OF has become partially filled by a defect that also helps identify the popular re-marriage. The obverse displays an intriguing hint of superficial cameo effect, with both sides practically vibrating with respect to edge-to-edge champagne luster.
