A choice AU example of this scarce Triple Punched Date variety. A bold strike shows re-punching on the bases of 1842, most notable on the 8. Boldly struck and offering a wealth of original mint luster, this coin has a very nice look overall. PCGS has graded just three WB-12 Triple Punched Date examples in all grades, AU50, AU53, and MS63, none of which have appeared to have sold in auction. The variety is unpriced by PCGS, but the generic Medium Date is listed at $475. Worthy of an advanced set of die varieties. Cert. Number 22010306 PCGS # 801695.00
