- 1852 Augustus Humbert $10 Gold. K-10. Rarity-5. EF-45 (PCGS). Dominant light-yellow color is enhanced by mottled blushes of slightly bolder, copper-rose tinting. Apart from the often-seen striking softness for the type, both sides present as suitably bold for having acquired 15 points of wear. Scattered small and moderate-size abrasions are commensurate with the grade, the coin presenting quite well overall for a circulated Humbert gold coin from the early Gold Rush era.
This coin comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Tommy Thompson of the Columbus-America Discovery Group, excavators of the S.S. Central America shipwreck.
