Description du lot
D.W. COLLECTION. As gold flooded the economy in the early 1850s, the price of silver rose in relation, making silver coins worth more than face value. As a result, these are scarcer than the already low mintage of 7,500 pieces would have you think. Very nicely toned in dappled shades of azure, gold, and amber that are brought to life when the light hits the semi-reflective, almost prooflike fields. Sharply struck, the devices have only the slightest, most subtle hint of high point friction, but there are no significant marks or lines to be seen anywhere on this visually impressive GEM AU! PCGS 21, NGC 33, CAC 6. Here is another early date in a grade where no CAC-approved example has ever sold in auction. Going back to 2008, every example has sold for between $4,200 and $5,300 and the current PCGS value is listed at $5,250. Destined for an "Everyman" set of Seated dollars and worthy of a very strong bid! Cert. Number 25528472 PCGS # 6937
