Description du lot
1805 Draped Bust Half Dime. LM-1, the only known dies. Rarity-4. EF-40 (PCGS). This is a nice example of a very difficult date to find, especially in high collector grades. The fields are classic olive-gold while the worn areas are light silver, with ample definition on Liberty's curls and the eagle. Early die state with most of the reverse well struck, but the ever present softness is noted on Liberty's bust and the cloud and portion of the wing just opposite; these 1805 half dimes are always found with this diagnostic softness to some degree. A solid representative of this date which will please any date or variety specialist in this series.
