- Description du lot
- 1845 Braided Hair Half Cent. B-3. Rarity-6. Second Restrike. Proof-63 BN (PCGS). OGH. As with all proof Braided Hair Half Cents, the 1845 is rare in both original and restrike formats. The present example is what Walter Breen (1983) refers to as a Second Restrike, and it is attributable by the presence of a series of short, sharp die lines (as made) at the reverse rim outside the letters RICA in AMERICA. Rich golden-copper surfaces with a few small swirls of bolder deep-rose color scattered about. Fully struck and well mirrored in finish, this coin would make an important addition to any advanced collection.
