Description du lot: 1787 Fugio Cent. Pointed Rays. Newman 15-Y, W-6915. Rarity-2. STATES UNITED, 8 Pointed Stars on Label. VF-30 (PCGS). A solid representative of this distinctive variety featuring the only reverse die in the Fugio series to use the "8-pointed star" ornaments on the reverse label. This otherwise well struck example shows the upper star clearly, but only a faint trace of the lower star, typical of the die pairing. Overall smooth in appearance with a noticeably glossy texture, both sides are warmly toned in a blend of deep golden-brown and steel-olive. A tiny nick in the upper left obverse field is noted, as well as a somewhat granular texture that one will need a loupe to discern. PCGS# 898. NGC ID: 2B8K.
