Lot Description

Deep olive and tobacco-brown patina on surfaces that are characteristically (for the type) soft at the borders, yet significantly bolder toward the centers. Several light to moderate marks are noted, including a dig on the reverse at the right base of the letter E in ONE. Classic Head cents as a type are challenging to collect in the finer circulated grades, and this 1812 S-291 holds up quite well when all things are considered.
