- Starting in 1879 to the end of the series, trade dollars were struck as Proofs only for collectors. This nearly Choice example displays a bold Cameo contrast between the deeply reflective fields and the thickly frosted, sharply impressed devices. Some light lines in the fields confine the grade to the Proof-62 Cameo level, but the eye appeal is comparable to that of a higher grade.
