On Target Collection. Mintage: 29,000. Widely hoarded, the 1889 gold dollar is not at all rare at MS-66+, but this is a nicely compelling example that shows no evidence of mishandling, and for that matter, both sides boast an unusually nice degree of vintage coloration. Clashed dies blatantly show on either side, and LIBERTY lacks the central lettering as usual for the date. A 100% fully frosted specimen, unlike the varying degrees of prooflike character often seen.
