This is a very pleasing and visually alluring GEM Proof from this important Civil War year. Deep and glittering mirrors beam boldly from all over. Both sides enjoy super gorgeous totally original swirling colors of blue, rose, pale green, and gold that surround a brilliant center on the obverse. Miss Liberty and the details are thickly frosted and are fully struck, contrasting boldly against the surrounding watery fields. The eye appeal is gorgeous! Only 460 Proofs were struck. PCGS 9, NGC 3. This GEM sold in April 2018 for $3,600 and the current Collectors Universe value is listed at $4,000. Just two coins are graded higher PCGS in the CAM designation. Cert.
