Description du lot
1860 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. Proof-63 (NGC). CAC. Otherwise brilliant surfaces exhibit a few splashes of iridescent reddish-gold toning in isolated areas at and near the rims. The 1860 is one of the more frequently encountered Proof No Motto Liberty Seated dollars, although survivors are much rarer than the stated mintage of 1,330 pieces might imply. It is most likely that only a few hundred examples were actually distributed to contemporary collectors with the balance either destroyed at the Mint or released into commercial channels. Specialists Osburn and Cushing (2018) suspect that just 525 specimens remain, all from the die pairing that they identify as OC-P1. PCGS# 7003. NGC ID: 252E.
