1895 Barber Quarter. Proof-66 Cameo (NGC). CAC. If every coin were as downright pretty as this, collectors of toned proofs would be absolutely spoiled. Fully struck devices are visibly frosted through the vivid toning, the wildly mirrored fields illuminating a melange of graduated shades of blue, gold and rose and both sides. The 1895 proof issues of all denominations are generally well made, and this is no exception. The technical high quality of surfaces and strike are enhanced only by the exquisite patination provided by mother nature in the 115 years after it was struck.
