1850 Liberty Head Half Eagle. EF-45 (PCGS). Glints of peripheral luster enhance warmly patinated, honey-gold surfaces on both sides of this richly original example. Boldly defined in most areas. One of many underrated issues in the early Liberty Head half eagle series, the 1850 is just as scarce in today's market as many of the more highly regarded Charlotte and Dahlonega issues from the 1840s and 1850s.
