Mintage: 16,788. 8 graded AU-55, 14 higher at PCGS. Sheer preservation near the mint-state level makes this a noteworthy Charlotte survivor and considerable satiny luster remains. Just as noteworthy, the dies struck up the details to an outstanding level for a southern mint product, producing needle-like intricacies within the hair and the eagle's feathers. A lamination and alloy anomaly above the eagle may serve as pedigree markers. Extremely rare above the present "choice" grade level.
