1828 Capped Bust Quarter. B-3. Rarity-5. 25/50 C. VF-35 (PCGS). A mostly dove gray example with warmer pewter and olive highlights blended around the peripheries. Overall boldly defined and pleasingly smooth in hand for the assigned grade, this is a desirable mid grade example of this scarce die marriage. The 1828 B-3 variety is readily attributable by the 25/50 C. blundered reverse, this die leftover from the 1822 B-2 pairing. PCGS# 5343. NGC ID: 23RV.
