Losbeschreibung: Lot 389 1854 N-4 R3 Repunched 4 PCGS graded MS64 Brown.Lustrous golden light olive. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has outstanding eye appeal. The only notable marks are a small planchet chip on the rim at star 4, two tiny ticks on the rim below the 5, and a spot of shallow corrosion in the dentils off the end of the wreath stem. Sharply struck VEDS (very early die state), die state a early, with fine die polishing lines covering the fields on both sides. The fine repunching under the crossbar and base of the 4 is sharp. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#1 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 1 finer in 65.
