Lot Description

1793 Chain Cent. S-1. Rarity-4. AMERI. Fair-2 Spot. Deep chocolate brown. Essentially basel state on the obverse with just a hint of the outline of Liberty's portrait present, but without a trace of the date at the bottom or LIBERTY at the top. The reverse is nearly Good for its grade, with strong enough details that all can be made out without much problem. A large obverse rim bruise is seen at 7 o'clock, and several obverse scratches are noted as well. Reverse rim damage is noted at 12 o'clock with scratches evident at the center and a large corrosion spot at 2 o'clock in the chain links. PCGS# 1340.
