- THE SOMMELIER COLLECTION All 130,000 half cents were struck from a single pair of dies, Cohen-1. This is a truly spectacular GEM example. Bold luster blooms with swirling cartwheels on satiny smooth surfaces. The strike is exceptionally bold on both sides. The surfaces are very colorful, with a rich medium brown that has highlights of lilac and rose, with ample tinges of original orange-red that pops out when rotated in a light. The eye appeal is spectacular! PCGS 33, NGC 37, CAC 17. The most recent example sold in our July 2020 Regency Auction fro $1,939. Just eight examples have ever graded higher in the BN designation. This one will bring serious bidders from type collectors, it is very high end! Cert. Number 26818424 PCGS # 1162.00
