1793 S-2. Rarity-4+. Chain. AMERICA. VF-25 (PCGS). Deep chocolate brown with olive and golden tan highlights. Nicely struck on both sides, especially so at the central reverse at the chain motif. Free of noticeable contact marks, a coin that stands up well to careful scrutiny, though we do note a touch of minor granularity here or there. An outstanding coin for the grade, sharp, and with eye appeal that sets it apart from many of the Chain cents currently available in similar grade. Everyone needs a Chain cent to anchor a large cent collection!
