Lot Description

13 graded MS-64+, 152 higher at PCGS. Unimpaired luster swirling beneath almond patina leads off the list of accolades for this popular "obverse mintmark" half-dollar, and honestly, the coin has the arm's-length look of a full "gem". Evenly struck, details were well brought up in general, even at Liberty's hand, except that some of the eagle's lower feathers are indistinguishable. Perhaps a few stray carbon spots prevented PCGS from favoring MS-65 territory.
