1848 Seated Liberty Half Dollar. WB-101. MS-64 (NGC). Brilliant satin-to-softly frosted surfaces greet the viewer from both sides of this near-Gem. We see no abrasions of note, as befits the grade, and only a few isolated areas of minor softness to the strike. Conditionally scarce for this lower-mintage 1840s Half Dollar issue, the total delivery of which amounted to only 580,000 pieces.
