Description du lot
1850-O Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. EF-45 (PCGS). The 1850-O (just 40,000 coins struck) is the rarest of only four New Orleans Mint contributions to the Liberty Seated silver dollar series of 1840-1873. Heavily circulated as an issue throughout the Antebellum South, a fair number of examples may also have been claimed by melting during the run up in silver prices during the early to mid 1850s. This particularly fortunate survivor is overall lightly worn with rich, blended, olive-gray and blue-gray patina. Scattered abrasions are inconsequential for the grade.
