Lot Description

1828 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-115. Rarity-2. Square Base 2, Small 8s, Large Letters. MS-64 (PCGS). Frosty white surfaces with a bit of deep steel-blue and russet toning at portions of the borders. Boldly lustrous and with minimal signs of handling as befits the near-Gem grade assessment. The strike is bold throughout with excellent definition to all of the design elements. This handsome piece would do particularly well in a Mint State type set that requires an example of the popular Capped Bust, Lettered Edge half dollar series of 1807 to 1836.
