A very scarce Doubled Die obverse variety, with the letters of UNITED doubled at UNIT. Well struck and totally original, this is a fantastic near-CHOICE example that has a great eye appeal for the grade. A few tiny marks are noted and account for the assigned grade. PCGS 2, NGC 1, CAC 1. No example of this die pair in this grade has ever sold in auction, but the Collectors Universe value is listed at $1,000. We expect strong bidding from the specialist, the Snow reference suggests this variety is worth a premium of 2-3X. Cert. Number 39220852 PCGS # 2017
